“I am a joke to my friends,

The one who called on God and He answered him;

The just and blameless man is a joke.

“He who is at ease holds calamity in contempt,

As prepared for those whose feet slip. (Job 12: 4-5)

What is the thing you are most afraid of as Christian leaders?

Not COVID-19, then what?

Becoming a joke to your community?

I guess, no one wants to be a laughing stock to their neighbors thinking they don’t want to give enemies a chance to blaspheme God.

DID JOB GIVE HIS NEIGHBORS/FRIENDS A CHANCE TO BLESPHEME GOD?

They tried, but failed because the calamity Job faced wasn’t for him when his heart was at peace with God. He kept his integrity.

The calamity was prepared for those whose feet slipped on it.(Job 12:5)

COVID-19 pandemic is NOT for those whose heart is of the Lord, but for those who are more afraid of being a joke to his neighbors than FEAR OF GOD.

Remembering the ‘Job’s Song’ this morning,

“Though my flesh it be destroyed, yet with my eyes I will see God. For I know that my Redeemer lives, and I will stand with Him on that day.”
